Connecting Children to Nature Project!

Creating Inspiring Classrooms for Meaningful Learning!

Apply to be part of the Connecting Children to Nature project (CCN). Research shows that nature rich environments support creativity and problem solving, enhance cognitive abilities, improve social relations, and reduces stress.

SF Quality Connections has tapped a group of master teachers and coaches who have experience and passion for creating inspiring environments that support children. They can partner with you to transform your environment!

What is the process?

Commitment for selected participants:

  • Attending Interactive Design Institute February 22, 2018 8:30am-4:30pm Location: Recreation Room at County building at the SF Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park (At least one teaching team member and one administrator required to attend)
  • Attending follow up 1/2 day training
  • Hosting 3 onsite working sessions
  • Give permission for environment to be photographed (pre and post project)

This service is available to all sites in San Francisco who receive OECE Early Learning Scholarship funding on a first come first served basis depending on the availability of funds and time of consultants. Limited resource will be provided based on design and space needs. Priority given to first time applicants. Release time for up to 2 teachers to attend training provided.
